Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation
The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) invites you to an information event on the new Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which will be held on 7 June 2024 at BAM. The presentations in the morning can be attended in-person or accessed via Webex; the discussion rounds in the afternoon must be attended in-person at the BAM.
The new regulations for PV were adopted by the European Parliament on Tuesday, 23 April 2024. Approval by Member States is still pending. The regulations define additional minimum standards for market access for PV modules, which have been the subject of extensive and at times heated discussion – relating, for example, to compliance with CO2 footprints, requirements for the circular economy and reporting obligations for PV modules sold within the EU.
BAM is the body responsible for ecodesign in Germany under the energy-related products act (Energieverbrauchsrelevante-Produkte-Gesetz, EVPG); as such, it advises policymakers on the technical aspects of legislation and provides information to relevant interest groups. It was actively involved in the hearings on the Ecodesign Directive. Participation in the event will allow you to obtain advanced information about minimum standards likely to take effect from 2025, or even to actively participate in the discussion.
