Up to 400°C: High-temperature solutions for solar process heat and district heating

BETD Side Event

The heating transition is a key challenge on the path to climate neutrality. Cost pressure is extremely high, especially in industry, and international competitiveness must be maintained despite all decarbonization efforts.

With temperatures of up to 400°C, concentrating solar thermal energy is an important option for generating cost-effective and emission-free heat for industrial processes. In addition, large solar thermal systems are an essential component of decarbonized heating and cooling networks. The market for concentrating solar thermal energy is still in its infancy, but is growing steadily.

With the joint project ProSolNetz, the consortium of research institutes, planning offices and technology providers aims to promote market development by carrying out the necessary technical developments and assessments, offering design tools and training for planners and industry and disseminating information about the technology.

In this event, participants will gain insights into potential applications, successful projects, funding opportunities, current market dynamics and trends presented by the consortium’s experts.
